1994-12-02
Intermedia Television has its roots in one of the earliest local television initiatives in Romania. The station initially operated in connection with the local cable network, under the names CATV Agapia and later AGAPIA. Over time, the television service continued under the STV brand and subsequently as Antena 1 Suceava, as part of a local affiliation with a national television network.
In 2007, the station separated from this affiliation, following editorial and political pressures that were incompatible with its local editorial independence. Since then, the television service has operated under the Intermedia name, with a focus on regional news, public-interest journalism, community reporting and locally produced programmes.
The current legal entity, SC INTER-MEDIA SRL, was incorporated on 02.12.1994 and is the holder of the audiovisual licence for the programme service Intermedia.

Intermedia Television’s internal practice is to support editorial staff, camera operators, producers and contributors who may suffer physical or psychological harm in the course of their work. This may include immediate editorial and managerial support, adjustment or suspension of assignments, debriefing, referral to medical or psychological support where appropriate and compliance with applicable Romanian labour and occupational safety regulations.
Intermedia recognises that journalists and contributors may face risks when reporting on accidents, disasters, crime, protests, war-related issues, vulnerable persons, traumatic testimonies, public pressure or online harassment. The newsroom treats staff safety and wellbeing as part of its editorial responsibility and has access to professional support through a collaborator who is a clinical psychologist, where such support may be appropriate.
