We traditionally consider April 23, 2009, as the founding date of our media, as this is when the domain name nikvesti.com was registered.

However, the legal entity NikVesti Production (Private Enterprise) was registered earlier, on February 1, 2008. Since this legal entity was not yet involved in journalism at that time, we consider the actual start of our online media operations to be a year later, in line with the domain registration.

Until 2023, websites in Ukraine could not be officially registered as media outlets. To legalize our journalists and operate within the legal framework, as well as gain accreditation for events, we registered as a newspaper in 2011. This allowed our journalists to hold press credentials for print media, even though they worked in digital.

It wasn’t until 2023, with the introduction of a new media law in Ukraine, that we registered as an online media outlet, obtained the relevant registration certificate, and were included in the Ukrainian online media registry.

1. Co-owner of Private Enterprise "Editorial of newspaper Mayak" (02474216), The newspaper itself was historically created back in 1933. In 2019, the new owner (Oksana Yanishevska) tried to restore the newspaper, but with the beginning of the war in Ukraine, this initiative ended. The legal entity does not conduct activities.
2. Co-owner of TRK NIS-TV LLC (20874043), Local TV channel in Mykolaiv. Since 2020, Oksana Yanishevska has been its co-owner and producer. After the start of the war, the channel existed for several months. Currently, the company is not operating, the TV channel is not functioning.
3. Co-owner of TRK NIKVESTI LLC (41095104), A legal entity created for the purpose of establishing a TV channel on the basis of the editorial office of NikVesti before the war. However, these plans could not be implemented. Currently, the company is not operating.

Oleh Dereniuha became a member of the political party "Respublika" in 2014.
