Exploring the crackdown on freedom of expression in Central Eastern Europe

The Ethical Journalism Network partnered with the Evens Foundation and Free Press Unlimited, hosted an online panel looking at challenges to the media and ethical journalism in Central Eastern Europe on 11th October 2021. In this video of the event, the panel explored the crackdown on freedom of expression in the region and the impact it has had on independent journalism, particularly those that have emerged since the Covid-19 pandemic, and drew on cases from Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia.

Moderated by Dr Aida Al-Kaisy, our panel included Maryia Sadouskaya-Komlach, Anna Gielewska, and Marius Dragomir.
