This course will guide you on how to integrate sources responsibly into the journalistic production of a media outlet.

Learning Outcomes:

At the end of the course, participants will be able to:

• Identify and check the credibility of sources to ensure that their information is reliable
• Check facts and corroborate sources to ensure accuracy of information
• Describe the issues involved in protecting the privacy of sources
• Describe the challenges of anonymizing sources
• Understand the potential risks to vulnerable sources (such as children, trauma victims or refugees) and identify how to avoid harming them in the course of journalistic work.
• Understand the potential conflicts of interest that can arise when working with sources, and learn how to avoid them while maintaining journalistic integrity and independence.
• Understand the importance of being transparent with the public about sources and reporting methods to promote accountability and credibility
